Byzantine Walls

During byzantine times, the city was protected by walls, which are evident today in the coastal area, and especially in the modern port, where you can see parts of them at high altitude.

The northwest tower of the middle-byzantine wall is the best preserved and has more than one room, since it is close to an adjacent gate.

On the west side of the tower, various architectural parts and sculptures from previous historical periods are preserved even today, being integrated and recognized in the masonry.
