Two small cavities in the rock which are forming niches, are located on the western side of the peninsula of Alyki, they are close to the sea and in a landscaped area where only few steps are leading to. The cave is already known since the early 20th century when the sightseer Baker-Penoyre visited Alyki. The sightseer then has found in the first niche, a fragment of parapet with an embossed cross and a written illegible inscription which cannot be found today, while on the second niche, he saw piles of bones. Today both niches are shaped, from the local people, to a small worship place dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
